The Steel-Air Dual Action Sander's unique drive geometry results in interrupted contact of the abrasive to the work surface. Since the pad is always changing plane, the abrasive does not "load up", and heat generation is minimized. The result is a scratch-free finish and longer abrasive life. It's rotary and orbital motion is ideal for rapid removal and feathering of body filler as well as fine finishing resulting in swirl-free finishes.
